Sustainability & Packaging Policy

Our Approach

Oneday FMCG Trading Limited Company is a trading company and exporter. We do not design product packaging and we do not manufacture, so our influence sits in a specific place: how goods are consolidated, packed for export and loaded into containers. This policy describes what we actually control, and it deliberately avoids claims we cannot substantiate.

Export Packaging

• Goods ship in the manufacturer's original export cartons wherever possible. Re-cartoning is avoided because it adds material, adds cost and adds handling risk.
• Where consolidation cartons are needed for a mixed load, we use corrugated board that is recyclable through ordinary paper streams at destination.
• Stretch film, strapping and edge protection are used at the minimum level that keeps the load stable — under-securing a load causes far more waste through damage than the packaging itself represents.
• We do not add promotional or decorative outer packaging to export cartons.

Load Efficiency

The largest environmental variable in an FMCG export shipment is how well the container is used. A container that sails half-empty carries the same emissions as a full one. We plan loads to balance weight and volume so that heavy categories such as beverages and detergents cube out against light categories such as confectionery and personal care. Our mixed container approach exists for commercial reasons, but it has the same effect: it lets a buyer fill a container with a broad assortment instead of shipping several partial loads.

Loading method — palletised or floor-loaded — is chosen with the buyer, weighing discharge capability at destination against usable volume. Details are in our Shipping & Export Logistics Policy.

Waste Reduction

Short-dated stock is the main source of avoidable waste in FMCG trading. We manage it by confirming remaining shelf life on the Proforma Invoice before an order is committed, as described in our Product Quality & Shelf Life Policy, rather than shipping stock that will expire before it can be sold. Cartons and pallets received in good condition at our consolidation point are reused where they meet export standards.

Product Packaging Is the Manufacturer's

Primary packaging — bottles, sachets, films, closures and artwork — is designed and produced by the brand owners. Recyclability, recycled content and material reduction on the pack itself are their programmes, not ours. Where a buyer needs packaging material declarations for regulatory or reporting purposes, tell us and we will request them from the manufacturer; availability and format are determined by the manufacturer.

Destination Packaging Obligations

Many markets operate extended producer responsibility, packaging recovery or deposit return schemes. Registration, reporting and fees under those schemes fall on the party placing the goods on that market — normally the importer. We will supply the pack weight and material information we hold to support your reporting, as noted in our Export Compliance & Documentation Policy, but the obligation itself is the Buyer's.

What We Do Not Claim

We do not hold environmental management certification, we do not currently measure or publish a carbon footprint for our shipments, and we do not offer carbon-offset shipping. We would rather say so plainly than publish a claim that would not survive a buyer's questions.

Working With Buyers

If your business has specific packaging requirements — pallet specification, ISPM 15 treated wood, plastic reduction targets, recyclable-only outer packaging, or particular labelling for waste streams — raise them at enquiry stage. Requirements of this kind are straightforward to accommodate before a load plan is fixed and difficult afterwards.
