Shipping & Export Logistics Policy

Scope
This policy describes how Oneday FMCG Trading Limited Company ships wholesale FMCG orders from Vietnam. All shipments are business-to-business export consignments. We do not ship retail parcels or single-unit orders. This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Port of Loading
Our standard port of loading is Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (Cat Lai and Cai Mep terminals). Loading from other Vietnamese ports can be arranged where the assortment and freight routing justify it; this must be agreed before the Proforma Invoice is issued because it affects both cost and consolidation time.
Incoterms
All shipments move on an Incoterms 2020 basis stated on the Proforma Invoice. Unless otherwise agreed our standard basis is FOB Ho Chi Minh City. We also quote EXW, FCA, CFR and CIF on request. The Incoterm determines who arranges and pays for main carriage and insurance, and where risk passes from us to the Buyer. If you are unsure which basis suits your import arrangements, tell us how you normally receive cargo and we will advise.
Container Types and Loading
We ship in 20' standard and 40' high-cube containers. Goods are packed in the manufacturer's export cartons and are either palletised or floor-loaded depending on the product mix, the weight-to-volume ratio and the Buyer's handling capability at destination. Floor loading typically yields more usable volume; palletised loading is faster to discharge and better suited to warehouses working with forklifts only. State your preference at quotation stage.
Heavy lines such as beverages and detergents are loaded low and distributed across the container floor to keep axle weights legal at destination. Light, high-volume lines such as confectionery and tissue-type products are used to cube out the remaining space.
Mixed Container Loading
Mixed containers combining several categories are our normal way of working. Where products with strong odours — for example air fresheners, insect sprays or certain cleaning products — are combined with food or confectionery in one container, we separate and barrier them within the load. Where separation is not sufficient for a particular combination, we will advise against it rather than accept the risk of taint.
Booking and Shipping Schedule
Bookings are placed once the order is consolidated and payment is on track under the agreed Payment Terms. Estimated shipment periods given in quotations and on the Proforma Invoice are based on manufacturer availability, consolidation time and carrier schedules. They are estimates, not guaranteed sailing dates. Vessel rollovers, blank sailings, equipment shortages and port congestion are outside our control.
Where the Buyer nominates the carrier or freight forwarder under an FOB or FCA arrangement, the Buyer is responsible for the booking, for the timely arrival of empty equipment and for any charges arising from delays on the nominated carrier's side.
Shipping Documents
The standard document set accompanying each shipment is described in our Export Compliance & Documentation Policy. Draft documents are sent for your check before originals are issued. Please review drafts carefully — amendments to a bill of lading after issue incur carrier fees and can delay clearance.
Insurance
Under EXW, FCA, FOB and CFR terms, marine cargo insurance is the Buyer's responsibility and we strongly recommend that cover is arranged before the vessel sails. Under CIF terms we arrange insurance to the minimum level required by the Incoterm unless a higher level is agreed and quoted. Insurance does not cover inherent product characteristics, ordinary loss of shelf life in transit, or losses arising from the Buyer's own packing or handling instructions.
Transit Time and Delays
Transit time from Ho Chi Minh City varies widely by destination and routing, and is set by the carrier rather than by us. We pass on the carrier's schedule and notify you of material changes as soon as we are informed. We do not accept liability for losses arising from transit delay, vessel rollover, transhipment delay or port congestion.
Demurrage, Detention and Destination Charges
Free time at destination is granted by the carrier. Demurrage, detention, storage, customs examination and any other destination charges are for the Buyer's account under all Incoterms we quote. Prompt customs clearance is essential; documents are prepared in advance precisely so that clearance is not the bottleneck.
Split and Partial Shipments
Partial shipments are permitted only where agreed in writing and recorded on the Proforma Invoice, and where applicable in the letter of credit. Where a line becomes unavailable before loading we will contact you rather than ship short, as described in our ordering process.
Receiving the Container
On arrival, check the container seal number against the bill of lading before opening, photograph the seal and the loaded container before devanning, and count and inspect during discharge. These steps are what make a transit claim provable. Claims are handled under our Claims, Returns & Damaged Goods Policy.
